Man Dies From Injuries Sustained In Motorcycle Crash
A motorcyclist injured in a collision with a tractor-trailer near Potsdam almost two months ago has died.
Fifty year old Ronald Swinyer suffered "extensive leg and body trauma" in the August 16 accident on State Route 72 in the town of Potsdam.
He died October 7 in Burlington, Vermont. He was taken by helicopter to Fletcher-Allen Hospital in Burlington immediately after the accident.
The tractor-trailer, driven by 28 year old Jesse Ferguson of Potsdam, drove into the opposite lane and struck Swinyer's motorcycle.
Police said at the time that Ferguson entered Swinyer's lane as he passed a vehicle that was parked partway on the highway.
Ferguson was uninjured.
