Man Drives Car Through Front of Adams Store

It was a scary moment in Adams this Thanksgiving.

A man drove his car through the front door of the Dollar General Thursday afternoon.

Police say brake failure was the reason the driver of a Ford Taurus couldn't stop when he pulled up to the store.

Neither the driver nor anyone inside the building was injured, but firefighters say it was quite the sight.

"The car was totally inside the building. The back bumper was through the door, so it went totally into the building. And (there was) a lot of broken glass, a lot of spilled soda, and things like that," said the Adams Fire Department's Bob Simpson.

No tickets will be issued.

The Dollar General was closed for the day following the crash.
