Man Indicted On Burglary, Bribing A Witness Charges

A Jefferson County grand jury has indicted a 42 year old Watertown man on a number of charges, including trying to bribe a witness.

Michael Merrifield of William Street faces a seven-count indictment in connection with a November burglary at the apartment of April and Shawn Secor.

Merrifield is alleged to have used a knife to threaten April Secor during the incident.

On Monday, Merrifield was indicted on counts of burglary first and second-degree, criminal possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment, menacing as well as bribing a witness and tampering with a witness.

He's accused of trying to convince Secor not to testify before the grand jury.
