Man Injured In Car-Pedestrian Accident
A Potsdam man is in a Vermont hospital after he was struck by a car Thursday.
St. Lawrence County sheriff's deputies say 36 year old Christopher DeShane was struck by a car driven by 26 year old Natalie Plunkett, also of Potsdam.
Deputies say Plunkett was driving through a heavy downpour on Route 56 in the town of Potsdam around 1:30 a.m. when she saw DeShane, tried to avoid striking him, but sideswiped him instead.
DeShane was taken to Canton-Potsdam Hospital, then to Fletcher Allen Medical Center in Burlington for treatment of head injuries.
He was listed in critical condition Friday morning.
Deputies say they are still investigating the accident.
