It happened at approximately 11:30 a.m. at a farm on Field Road in the town of Hounsfield.

The farm worker was identified as 33 year old Ryan Nortz of East Road.

Officials said Nortz got caught in a PTO, which stands for power take-off.

He was airlifted to Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, where he was listed in fair condition late Wednesday afternoon.

Jefferson County Agricultural Coordinator Jay Matteson said Nortz is expected to make a full recovery.

Officials said the accident happened on the Robbins Farm.
