Man Jailed After Alleged Check Forgery

A Rodman man was jailed after he allegedly stole a check, forged someone's name and cashed it.

Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies say 25 year old Timothy Halferty and an accomplice cashed the check for $180 at Community Bank on Arsenal Street in Watertown.
 
He was charged with second degree forgery, second degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, fifth degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and petit larceny.
 
Halferty was arraigned in Watertown town court and sent to jail on $5,000 bail.
