Man Killed in Moose River Kayaking Accident

Officials say a New Jersey man was killed Sunday afternoon  in a kayaking accident on the Moose River

According to the Lewis County Sheriff's Office, 62 year-old William De Angelis was kayaking near an area called "Iron Bridge" when he went over a ledge into a hydraulic water hole. 

Officials say De Angelis was unresponsive when other kayakers tried to perform CPR on him on a rock in the middle of the river.

De Angelis was transported to Lewis County General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  Officials are investigating the cause of the accident and the exact cause of death is not yet known.
