Man Arrested For Stealing Greyhound Bus

Jefferson County sheriff deputies located a stolen Greyhound bus Sunday and arrested the man who was driving it.

39 year old Andrew Hickey of Peeksill, NY, was charged with second degree criminal possession of stolen property and first degree unauthorized use of a vehicle, both felonies.

Hickey allegedly stole the $500,000 bus from the Regional Transportation Center in Syracuse.

Greyhound headquarters disabled the bus electronically two hours later on Route 11, where Hickey was arrested.

Deputies say Hickey boarded the bus because he was cold and it was running and warm. Once on it, he decided to use it to visit a friend in the Watertown area.

Police say Hickey has a commercial driver's license and knew how to drive the bus.
