Massena Businessman Pleads In Rape Case

On Monday, his rape trial was supposed to begin.

But, instead, 35 year old James Roshia Jr. decided to take a plea deal.

The Massena businessman pleaded guilty to a felony count of first-degree criminal sexual act.

Roshia was indicted last May on the following charges:

- first-degree rape
- first-degree criminal sexual act
- first-degree sexual abuse
- second-degree unlawful imprisonment

Roshia was alleged to have locked the female inside his Time Capsule game store on May 1 and sexually assaulted her.

Roshia faces 10 years in prison and 10 years post-release supervision when he's sentenced.

St. Lawrence County District Attorney Nicole Duve said the victim is relieved she doesn't have to testify at the trial.
