Massena Terminal Railroad Moves Ahead With Improvements

Money from Governor Cuomo's Regional Economic Development Initiative will help the Massena Terminal Railroad launch the first stage of its $2 million rail line improvement project.

Under the plan, $1.6 million will be used to begin rail and bridge improvements along the main line and yard tracks to accommodate ore trains for the ALCOA West Plant.

The railway will also upgrade rails, ties and ballast and will install a new switch to improve the line's connection with CSX.
