McDougall Named To Gouverneur Village Board

The president of the Central Trades and Labor Council is now the newest member of the Gouverneur Village Board.

During a special meeting Tuesday, Ron McDougall was named to fill the trustee position of Carl Petitto, who resigned.

McDougall is the husband of former Gouverneur Mayor and Assemblywoman Dede Scozzafava.

Mayor Chris Miller told 7 News that McDougall's appointment should help bring stability to what has been a tumultuous situation.

Miller said McDougall "is knowledgable about the village and has a lot of background that will make him a valuable asset."

Miller also said no one has been named to replace former mayor Dorothy Vorce, who abruptly resigned as administrator last week.
