A school assembly at Immaculate Heart Central School in Watertown took an unusual turn Friday, when the sounds of pornography began spilling out of the public address system.

The school's new principal - Lisa Parsons - would not say what was heard, describing it only as an "unfortunate incident" that was "shocking."

Other people with knowledge of the incident told 7 News what sounded like pornography blared from the school's public address system for several minutes.

The occasion was a 'get acquainted' assembly for grades 7 through 12 to introduce Parsons, who is new to IHC this year, and other new administrators.

The student responsible was identified, Parsons said. She said no action has been taken so far, although other reports to 7 News said the student was expelled Friday.

Parsons said the parents of all the students were contacted over the weekend.

She said IHC wants to emphasize academics and spiritual matters.

She said the incident 'upset people' and that she is 'deeply concerned about the children.'
