Monday Vote Slated In Hassett CaseFormer St. Lawrence County Emergency Serrvices Director Marty Hassett feels he was unnecessarily prompted to resign his position. And a trio of county legislators feel so too. Legislators will act on the resolution at Monday night's 7 p.m. meeting. Hassett was told to resign or be fired by county Administrator Karen St. Hilaire after questions arose over his job performance. Hassett subsequently tried to take back his resignation, which was unsuccessful, as was his request for a hearing at which he could try to clear his name. The three legislators contend that Hassett was originally appointed by the full board of legislators and as such, he could take back his resignation if the board agrees. - reported by John Friot |
