An apparent drive-by shooting early Monday sent a man to a Syracuse hospital with injuries, according to city police.

The man was identifed as 24 year old Robert Hunt III in Three Mile Bay.

Police said Hunt was sitting in his vehicle on Ohio Street when he was struck by shots fired from a vehicle headed east, according to police.

That vehicle then made a right onto Colorado Avenue, police said.

No description of the vehicle was released.

Hunt was transported to a Syracuse hospital where he was listed in stable condition early Monday afternoon.

A woman, who asked that she not be identified, said Hunt was visiting her son at her home at 1333 Ohio Street prior to the shooting.

She said she heard two gun shots, went outside as Hunt ran into her yard with a gunshot wound to his arm.

She said she waited with him until an ambulance arrived.

If you have information about the shooting, call the Watertown Police Department at 782-2233.

The shooting occured only hours after police started investigating a fatal stabbing downtown.

Lieutenant Frank Derrigo, spokesperson for the Watertown Police Department, said the two crimes were not connected.

He said the person or people involved in the drive-by shooting are considered armed and dangerous.
