Here's a little bit of irony with your lake effect snow.
Most businesses on the Tug Hill Plateau love snow, because of the snowmobilers it brings.
On Wednesday, we get snow with a twist: the Montague Inn closed for the day due to the weather.
Owner Sue Lucas, who lives in Barnes Corners, couldn't get to her business.
Lucas was interviewed live by phone on 7 News At Noon. Click on the picture for the full interview.
"This morning, it was coming down really hard," she said.
"I had one employee go off the road," she said. "I, myself, could not see and we just needed to figure we'd keep everybody safe and not open quite yet today."
The roads to the inn were plowed just before noon, Lucas said, but it's still snowing hard there.
"So we're just going to kind of wait it out a little bit and see if this lets up."
Lucas said it's unusual for her business -- a popular destination for snowmobilers -- to close because of snow.
"I really cant believe it," she said, "especially for the first day of spring."
The good news is, the Tug Hill will have plenty of snow for the weekend.
"I'm sure we're going to be really busy," she said.
"We had a good weekend last weekend and this weekend looks like it's going to be even better."
