N-N Elementary Principal MournedThe principal of Norwood-Norfolk Elementary school died of cancer Tuesday night. Joanne Bigwarfe was 43. "She was a strong, compassionate, joyful woman who was well loved by her staff and students," said school superintendent Elizabeth Kirnie. Kirnie was notified of the death Tuesday night. Before becoming elementary school principal two years ago, Bigwarfe was the head of special education for the district. Kirnie praised the work of Hospice and Pallative Care of St. Lawrence Valley. "Their staff was key to helping our staff and students deal with the loss," Kirnie said. Joanne Bigwarfe's obituary can be found here. |
