NNY Foundation Awards Year-End Grants


As part of its year-end grant cycle, the Northern New York Community Foundation awarded three grants to area organizations totaling $16,700.

The Watertown-based foundation awarded Lowville Academy and Central School and Beaver River Central School $12,000 to provide winter clothing for students in need.

The grant is made possible in partnership with the Dyson Foundation.

The Watertown Rotary Club was awarded $3,000 to assist with repairing and refurbishing a fitness trail at Thompson Park.

The North Country Library System was awarded $1,700 to support the purchase of reusable mailing bags to people in Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence counties who would otherwise be unable to access library materials.

The foundation makes grants to support the work of nonprofit organizations and provides scholarships to individuals in Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence counties.
