Natural Gas Prices Could Mean Drop In Heating Costs For Some

North country families who heat their homes with natural gas can expect to see lower heating bills thanks to a glut on the market.

St. Lawrence Gas has more than 15,000 residential customers throughout the North Country who use natural gas for heat.

Company officials say the country is flush with natural gas and has a surplus that caused prices to fall - as much as 35 percent over the past 12 months.

Company officials tell 7 News that as the commodity price goes down, the savings gets passed on to customers.

The drop in natural gas prices could help offset the impact of high gasoline prices at the pump.
