Neighbors Make A Difference In Lowville

Tools

People got down and dirty in Lowville Wednesday to show neighbors can make a difference.

It was the 23rd annual Neighbors Make the Difference Day where Key Bank employees dedicate half of their work day to volunteer in the community.

This year the Lowville branch teamed up with Mayor Donna Smith and the village's Department of Public Works to clean up Veterans Memorial Park.

"This is a great event," said Tia Sabin, manager of Key Bank's Lowville branch. "It's great for our community here, especially this area.

"This is a nice park that a lot of families and children enjoy," she said.

"I think it's important for community togetherness," Mayor Smith said, "to make things look a little nicer."

Smith says this is just one of many volunteer projects she would like to do in Lowville this summer.
