Nelson In Lead For Ogdensburg Mayor, But Not By Much

Tools

The final results in the race for Ogdensburg mayor are too close to call.

The unofficial tally shows incumbent Bill Nelson leading challenger Jack McGrath by only nine votes.

The count, with all districts reporting, is 1,236 to 1,227.

Absentee ballots need to be counted before a winner can be declared.

St. Lawrence County Board of Elections said it sent out 156 absentee ballots and 111 have been returned.

The absentee ballots will be opened November 18.

One interesting note: Nelson won be only five votes when he was elected in 2007.
