New 1000 Islands Tourism App

The summer tourism season is now officially underway, and if you're trying to find something fun to do, well, there's an app for that.

The new smartphone application, just released by the Thousand Islands Tourism Council, is your guide to what the Thousand Islands region has to offer - available instantly at your fingertips.

"The app lets users find the nearest attractions, lodging options and more thanks to a built-in mapping program and new AR technology that shows users the direction and distance - in real time - of attractions, hotels, cottages, golf courses and more," the Thousand Islands Tourism Council said in a press release.

"The app provides instant editorial content, single‐touch calling and web access to more than 1,000 businesses compiled in the 1000 Islands International Tourism Council's (TIITC) database," the release said.

You can download it now for free from the Apple App store and iTunes.

It should be available for other platforms in the near future.
