New Businesses Spring Up Near Fort Drum Gate

The retail community on Route 11 near the Fort Drum main gate is about to grow.

Two local businessmen have been working together to bring several new businesses to that busy strip of highway.

Michael Lundy of Lunco Corporation is building an AutoZone store and Robert Ferris, owner of Big Apple Music says he's expanding his electronics store into the town of LeRay as part of a plaza.

It's a 10,500 square foot retail center. We have a couple of national food chains that are right now finishing their contracts and we'll have those two in there besides Big Apple," said Ferris.

Ferris says after five years of planning, he hopes to be able to open his new retail center next April.
