New Clayton Pavilion Officially Opens

It's the north country's newest riverfront attraction.

The ribbon was cut on the Clayton Riverwalk Pavilion Tuesday.

It's modeled after the old train station that used to be along the St. Lawrence River.

Officials say the pavilion will be a centerpiece of the village.

"We are very, very pleased to have been part of this," said New York Secretary of State Cesar Perales, "and we think it's one more piece of evidence that we are revitalizing New York."

"We decided to pattern it after the train station," Clayton Mayor Norma Zimmer said, "and we're really excited to have this built."

Officials plan to have concerts and other events at the pavilion throughout the summer.
