New Price Chopper On Target To Open In Early Spring

Construction is well underway on the new Price Chopper grocery store in the town of Alexandria.

Despite a lot of snow and cold weather this winter, crews have been able to stay on schedule.

Work is expected to be completed by the end of March and an early spring opening is planned.

"Our progress is going very well, very well. We're probably about six days ahead of schedule right now," said David Crandal of LeChase Construction Service.

The new Price Chopper will run off its own water system.

The town of Alexandria is in the process of putting in a new water project along Route 12 that the grocery store might tie into at a later date.
