New Trial Expected For Accused Rapist

Prosecutors say they will proceed with a new rape trial for a 48 year old Massena man who has had two previous mistrials.
 
Stewart Legnard is accused of raping a 36 year old woman at a Massena bar in October 2007.

A mistrial was declared when a female juror allegedly discussed the case during a Monday lunch break with another juror.

A previous trial ended with a mistrial when jurors were unable to reach a verdict.

The St. Lawrence County Jail said the picture above was taken in 2009.
