Newton Falls Mill Up For Sale Again

The Newton Falls paper mill is back on the market.

Mill president Scott Travers broke the news to local officials in a meeting Tuesday. Travers could not be reached for comment, but Christopher Westbrook, president of the Clifton-Fine Economic Development Corporation, confirmed the company's plan.

The mill's current owner is Scotia Investments of Nova Scotia, Canada, which had said it had a restart plan and was seeking a new investment partner.

Instead, Travers said, the company is planning to put the century old mill up for sale or liquidate the equipment.

The mill has been idle since December 2010. The mill kept a handful of employees on, but 100 workers who were working there were laid off.
