No Jail Time For Embezzler

A former account clerk who embezzled $50,000 at the Canton Best Western University Inn will not see any jail time.
 
During her sentencing Monday in St. Lawrence County Court, 37 year old Joanna Wright of 470 Cousintown Road, Dekalb Junction, was placed on interim probation for one year.

Wright was allowed to plead guilty to a reduced charge of fourth-degree grand larceny.

Wright admitted stealing the money over a two year period from April 2008 to June 2010 to help her family.

She is being allowed to pay partial restitution of $6,600 in payments while more than $49,000 was reduced to civil judgment.
