Tools

Everyone escaped serious injury in a collision between a vehicle and an Amish buggy Sunday in the town of Hopkinton.

St. Lawrence County sheriff's deputies say 36 year old Reynold Voisine of Potsdam was driving west on Route 11B when he failed to notice a buggy, operated by 36 year old Joe Miller, also of Potsdam, traveling in the same direction.

Voisine's vehicle struck the left rear of the buggy, then went off the road and struck a sign and tree.

There were two adults and six children in the buggy. A 4 year old was treated at the scene for a bruise to the head.

No one else was injured in either vehicle.

Voisine was ticketed for failure to use due care approaching a horse, uninspected motor vehicle, failure to notify the DMV of an address change, and third degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle for driving with his license suspended.
