North Country Sees Record High Temps

The Watertown International Airport recorded a high temperature Monday afternoon of 92 degrees.

That's a new record for this date.

The previous record of 89 degrees was set in 1959.

Around the city of Watertown, we found some thermometers showing the temperature soared into the mid to upper 90s.

Some very lucky people braved the mid-day heat by jumping in Lake Ontario.

Westcott Beach State Park was filled Monday with people trying to cool off.

Mariah Doney and a friend choose a shady spot to enjoy the unseasonably warm north country weather.

"Usually it's rainy and cold and nasty and now it's beautiful and 90 degrees," she said.

According to the National Weather Service, a cold front is expected to move in Tuesday.
