Wednesday marks the 12th anniversary of a day America will never forget.
For many at Fort Drum, it marks the anniversary of the event that changed their lives forever.
Many Fort Drum soldiers, firefighters and police officers were affected when the country was attacked on September 11, 2001.
They reflected on that at a ceremony on post Wednesday morning.
It was also a chance for those who went down to New York to remember their experience.
"It just does your heart good to see that a country, a fire service, and police, and EMS all came together for one goal, one task, that day and they all worked side by side together," said Capt. Robert Tennies from Fort Drum's fire department.
Fort Drum fire and police personnel, military police, soldiers, and member of the public attended the ceremony.
