OSHA Team Investigates Fatal Accident At NYAB


A federal team has been sent to investigate the death Monday of a worker at New York Air Brake in Watertown.

Christopher Getman, 28, died when heavy equipment he was moving fell on him. (Read his obituary here.)

Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) area director Chris Adams says investigators will review the site, take pictures, talk to witnesses, and review all records and operating manual connected to the incident.

Getman was an employee of  P&M Construction of Watertown, which was contracted to do work at NYAB's Starbuck Avenue plant.

The team will investigate both P&M's and NYAB's involvement, Adam's said.

Adams said the investigation will look into P&M's and NYAB's involvement and take three or four months.
