Pickup Truck Overturns After Hitting Tractor TrailerA Fort Drum soldier escaped injury Monday when his pickup truck hit a tractor trailer and overturned into a ditch. The mishap occurred on Route 26 in the town of Champion at approximately 12:30 p.m. Great Bend Fire Chief Randall Stevens said the driver of the pickup was trying to pass a tractor trailer when the pickup hit a patch of snow. Stevens said the pickup veered in front of the tractor trailer and was struck. The pickup left the road and rolled over into a ditch. The soldier, whose name was not available, told the fire chief that despite being deployed to Afghanistan twice, the accident was the craziest thing he ever experienced. Most Popular |
