Ogdensburg Advertises For New City Manager

Ogdensburg's next city manager will be paid a starting salary between $80,000 to $95,000, according to the city's website.

After weeks of  finalizing details, the city finally posted the job on www.ogdensburg.org.

The city is seeking its sixth city manager. The job became vacant when Arthur Sciorra was fired over a housing controversy.

Applications will be accepted through July 20.

City officials say they'll pay relocation expenses for the new manager.

The city's consulting firm, The Bonadio Group, will pre-screen applicants before providing the city council with a list of potential candidates.

Ogdensburg officials hope to have the new manager on staff by fall.

The job requires a bachelor’s degree in public or business administration or a related field, and at least five years’ experience "in a responsible management position."

City Comptroller Phil Cosmo has been filling in until Sciorra's replacement is named.

The posting says Cosmo is not a candidate for the job.
