Ogdensburg Names New City Manager

A well-known member of the community has been named Ogdensburg's city manager.

Sixty-six year old John Pinkerton was officially named manager at a Monday night city council meeting.

He has signed a three-year contract that will earn him $84,000 a year.

Mayor Bill Nelson says Pinkerton brings extensive business experience to the job.

He has also been involved in a number of local civic organizations.

His first day on the job is October 15.

Ogdensburg has been without a manager since the city council fired Art Sciorra last January over a housing controversy.

Comptroller Phil Cosmo has been filling in.
