Ogdensburg Police Investigate Reported Sexual Assault

The Ogdensburg Police Department is investigating a report that a woman was sexually assaulted at a city restaurant.

Detective Sergeant Robert Wescott said the alleged victim reported being attacked early Tuesday morning inside the Dixie Lee restaurant at 432 State Street.

According to Wescott, the woman was later seen walking on Lafayette Street, which is about a quarter mile from the eatery.

Two women, who were passing by, offered the alleged victim a ride and they drove her home.

Wescott said the assault was then reported to police at 3:29 a.m. Tuesday.

Police would like to question the two women who gave the alleged victim a ride home.
