Ogdensburg's Pedestrian Bridge Makes Strides

All four sections of the new Lake Street pedestrian bridge in Ogdensburg have arrived on-site and are now connected.

Work is progressing on schedule for the massive 400 foot long iron pedestrian bridge over the Oswegatchie River that will connect the city's marina district to downtown.

The new bridge will eventually be lifted by two cranes and placed next to the old bridge that will then be demolished.

Workers are currently attaching water and sewer lines to the underside of the new bridge span that will connect the East and West sides of the city.

The pedestrian bridge will be several feet higher than the existing span to allow larger boats access to the marina.

The work is expected to be finished by July.
