Old Canadian Buses Await Facelifts In Ogdensburg

More than 35 former mass transit buses from Ottawa are parked in Ogdensburg where they are awaiting a trip to California to be refurbished and resold.
The 60-foot long articulating buses are being temporarily stored in the former Park Plaza shopping center parking lot before being taken to Riverside, California, where they will undergo a complete refurbishing and retrofit before being resold by Transit Sales International.

Most of the buses, which were used to take passengers around Ottawa, have logged 500,000 miles.

A company spokesman says the buses will be stripped down to the frame and rebuilt before being put back on the road.
