Old Newsboys Day Raises Funds For Salvation Army

Tools

It's Old Newsboys Day, which means any copy of the Watertown Daily Times you buy on Friday will benefit the Salvation Army.

Crews are out all over Watertown selling copies.

Although the newspaper actually costs 75 cents, many people are giving more to help support the Salvation Army and its Red Kettle drive.

We saw donations ranging from $1 to $5,000.

"It makes me feel real good...because when I get up Christmas morning, I know that a lot of kids have presents which otherwise would not have it except for this Old Newsboys Day," said Joseph Roselli, a volunteer.

"People are in the Christmas spirit...and we're very excited," said Kelley Campbell, a volunteer.

By the way, the $5,000 donation came from Cheney Tire in Watertown.
