Opening Statements Set For Thornton Sex Abuse Trial

Opening statements will be heard Friday morning in the sexual abuse trial of 37 year old Richard Thornton of Canton.
 
The final jurors were seated Thursday afternoon in St. Lawrence County Court in Canton.

Seven women and five men will hear testimony in the trial expected to last through part of next week.

Thornton was originally charged with raping and sexually abusing three young girls over a period of several years.

He is being tried on charges of predatory sexual Assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
