Owner Of Controversial Watertown Home Dies

The owner of a controversial home on Ward Street in Watertown has died.

Martin Moot, 88, died Sunday at the Samaritan Medical Center, where he had been a patient for two weeks.

Moot owned the home on Ward Street that in June drew complaints from neighbors about garbage and broken windows on the property.

In July, the home was given a clean bill of health by city inspectors after it was cleaned out, painted and repaired.

The same property was cited three years ago and led to Moot being billed $40,000 for cleanup.
