Oxley Jury Warned Not To Visit Social Website

The jury hearing evidence in the Wayne Oxley murder trial was warned by the judge Friday morning not to visit the website Topix.

The social website contains a thread on its Ogdensburg discussion board entitled "Free Oxley" with 100 comments.

The warning from Judge Jerome Richards came after he asked jurors if they were familiar with the website. Four jurors raised their hands.

Richards then asked if any had visited the website recently. One juror raised her hand, saying it had been "about a week ago."

The judge instructed jurors to not visit the website for the duration of the trial.

Testimony is underway again with prosecutors reading the testimony of late Sgt. Kevin Fee from a previous trial.

Fee, who died last year, was one of the first officers to arrive on scene of the August 2005 murder.

Oxley is accused of beating his neighbor, Bernard Trickey, to death with a baseball bat. This is his third trial.
