Parishville Man Charged In Child Porn Case

A Parishville man was charged Friday with possessing child porn, after an investigation that involved the Department of Homeland Security based in Massena, Potsdam police and the St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Department.

Bradfotd L. Barber Jr., 40, of 3565 George St., was held on one charge of possessing an obscene sexual performance of a child.

In a press release, the sheriff's department said the arrest resulted from an "undercover internet investigation" dubbed "Operation Northern Net," which "targets online child predators."

The information from the investigation prompted an October 23 search of Barber's residences, and the arrest resulted from interviews and from computer records examined by Homeland Security.

The press release noted Barber was arraigned in federal court in Plattsburgh and ordered held.
