Parking Spaces Become Scarce In Watertown

Finding parking in downtown Watertown these days is a lot like trying to find the proverbial needle in a haystack.

An extra 150 State Office Building employees can no longer use the building's parking garage so they're filling up the municipal lots.

It's first come, first served, which means finding an open spot is a challenge.

"Unless you get here before 8:30, there's pretty much no parking," said Morgan Pierce, who was looking for a parking space.

The parking problem is amplified on Wednesdays when hundreds of extra people are downtown attending the farmers market.

The State Office Building parking garage renovation project is expected to be finished in November.
