'Plum Tree' Author Talks About Book's Success

Tools

A north country author is getting national attention for her book, "The Plum Tree" and on Sunday Ellen Wiseman presented her story at Watertown's Flower Memorial Library.

"The Plum Tree" is a fictional account of life in Germany during World War II.

Wiseman is a native of Three Mile Bay and says her heritage inspired her to write the novel.

She says she grew up listening to stories her mother -- who is originally from Germany -- told of poverty and fear during the war.

"I poured my heart and my soul into it," she said, "so it's very rewarding to hear people say they loved it."

"The Plum Tree" is flying off the shelves at Sam's Club in Watertown, selling out there three times so far.

The book has earned a five-star rating on amazon.com.
