Police: Calcium Man Struck Pedestrian On Route 81

State police said a Calcium man struck a pedestrian on Interstate 81 in the town of Cicero Thursday night.

Troopers said 39 year old Wade Czajkowski was driving his pickup truck in the northbound lane when he hit the man.

The victim is identified as 53 year old Michael Moore of Pennellville, New York.

Police said Moore was crossing the northbound lanes at 9:30 p.m. when he was struck by Czajkowski's pickup.

A second vehicle, driven by 32 year old Amanda Card of Central Square, was immediately behind the Czajkowski vehicle.

Police said she attempted to swerve but was unable to avoid striking Moore, who was lying in the roadway.

Moore was transported to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse where he was listed in critical condition.

There's no word on why Moore was on the highway or if charges will be filed against the drivers.
