Police: Canton Man Head-Butts Victim

A Canton man allegedly broke into a woman's apartment, held her against her will and then head-butted her.

Village police charged Andrew J. LeBoeuf, 21, of Canton with several crimes including:

- Burglary 2nd Degree, a Class C felony

- two counts of Unlawful Imprisonment 2nd Degree

- one count of Criminal Mischief 4th Degree

- two counts of Harassment 2nd Degree.

Police said they were called to 42 Law Lane shortly before 5 p.m. Thursday. A woman reported LaBoeuf had broken into her apartment,and that LaBoeuf had "physically restrained" her.

"During the encounter,the victim was 'head-butted' by LeBoeuf and received a minor injury to her forehead," according to a press release.

LeBoeuf then left the apartment, police said. They said the damage to the apartment was substantial.

LeBoeuf was arraigned before Canton Justice Christopher Curley and was sent to the St. Lawrence County jail in lieu of $3,000 bail or $6,000 bond.  Judge Curley issued an order of protection for the victim. 

He will appear in Canton town court at a later date.
