The Lewis County Sheriff's Department said it has found the driver of a pickup truck that allegedly struck an Amish buggy Thursday and left the scene.

The name of the driver was not immediately available.

Sheriff's deputies said the accident happened near the Nefsey Road intersection on State Route 12 in the town of Lowville.

Deputies said the buggy was extensively damaged, but the man and woman inside were not hurt.

Police were looking for a newer model Ford F-250 or F-350 pickup truck with passenger-side front-end damage.
