MGN Online

A Winthrop man drowned Sunday while searching for his dog, state police said.

Jarred Donalis, 42, of 625 Route 11 C went out searching for his dog shortly after noon Sunday. Because he had a physical condition which limited his ability to move, his mother became concerned when he did not return within half an hour.

At 6 pm Sunday, volunteer searcher found his body in three feet of water in a pond about a quarter mile behind his home.

Police said the death has been ruled an accidental drowning.
