Update: Serial Killer Held Up Tupper Lake BankA man authorities believe was a serial killer confessed to the April 2009 robbery of a bank in Tupper Lake, the FBI confirmed Tuesday. The man, Israel Keyes, committed suicide while in a jail in Alaska Sunday. A spokesman for the FBI in Albany onfirmed for 7 News Tuesday that Keyes had confessed to the April 2009 robbery of a Community Bank in Tupper Lake. In that robbery, a man with a handgun ordered customers to the floor and demanded money. At the time, police were looking into whether the Tupper Lake robbery and bank robberies in Canton might be related. Keyes had one other connection to the north country; as we reported Monday, he dumped a weapon he used in a killing into a reservoir in Parishville, near Potsdam. Read Monday's report...
