A U.S. Postal Service employee is accused of using a device to eavesdrop on conversations in a postal vehicle.

State police say 50 year old John Sullivan of Watertown placed what they call "a mechanical overhearing device" to hear "privileged conversations" taking place inside the vehicle.

Trooper say the incidents happened in July.

He was charged with a felony count of eavesdropping.

He was issued a ticket to appear in Watertown city court at a later date.
